Typsy Gypsy - T' Nieuwe Werck Mix Pt 1 (MP3)

Wow! Now this is some unique shit right here! I had been hipped to the Gypsy sound via Gogol Bordello. But that was definitely more on the punk rawk tip. This mix starts of with a very traditional sounding track but then things start shifting around and you find yourself twerkin it to the 150 bpm beats. This mix is coming at you from the crates of Typsy Gypsy who is part of the Balkan Hot Stepsoundsystem in Belgium. Huge respect to Schobbejak who runs the unbelievable Amsterdam based mix blog 'T Nieuwe Werck (The New Work). This mix is just one of the over 60+ mixes featured on TNW. a drift on the signal (MP3)

A few weeks ago I came across the SHORTWAVEMUSIC blog. Run by Myke Weiskopf, the blog is dedicated to music and/or musical noise intercepted via shortwave radio. These musical recordings feature a bit of noise, hum, drift & interference. But that's exactly what makes them so haunting. SoI decided to use shortwave recordings as the basis for this new mix. I used quite a few clips from the SHORTWAVEMUSIC blog in this new mix. The rest of the music is just some stuff I came across that I thought would work well with the shortwave feel.
