This month I have put together my own eclectic mix of old and new to come up with my own "vintage 45 sound." I have found some terrific brokenbeat, funk, and jazz as well as a couple of excellent mashups that will transport you back to more simple times. Protokoll - No Men Mixtape (MP3)

Boston bred - San Diego based Protokoll had a stand out track ('Moving Forward') on the recent Scion/I heart comix remix CD. With their bauhaus inspired mood rock combined with a dancefloor friendly beat selection these boys look to be on the way up! They recently put this mixtape together which doesn't feature their own music but certainly serves as a good barometer of their own musical tastes (from Lisa Lisa & the Cult Jam to Throbbing Gristle). A great mix of party jams, mashups and more.

Roshan's WMC '08 Promo Mix - Funky Chicago House (MP3)
