<description>starts off with a kind of funky breaks/dnb style jam with a little beat juggling, then moves into some more downtempo instrumental hip/trip hop stuff with a great cinematic feel to it. from there we get a bit of dubby goodness and finish it up with some old school hip hop style beat tracks with a funky lofi flavour... - Source Site:http://percussionlab.com</description>

		<description>RADIO WAVES FROM SPACE

mix by drox

In this episode Ive incuded a track from my favorite musical discovery while living in Melbourne, Miso along with some roots tracks from Overproof sound system and the Congos. Also included is an overlooked west coast cat Vontel that I think has been slept on and more 90’s east coast hip hop goodness from Afu Ra, Greyboy ft AG, Brand Nubian with some classic latin grooves from Cal T’jader and Sergio Mendes.

Apologies for the wait between episodes, Ive just moved north for the winter (so to speak) to London, and im sure some of my sonic discoveries and influences here will seep through to the RWFS listeners.

A bit more about Miso, they were the most interesting discovery I made while living in Melbourne. I highly reccomend checking out their live show if the opportunity arises. RWFS was lucky enogh to catch their last 2 shows before disbanding as a group.

Their sound gravitates around melecholoy trip hop inspired grooves, influences of 90’s portishead, dj krush and the trip hop sound do seep through their set, they definantly have their own spin on it. The band have a great stage presence with an ever changing lineup of quality musicians with Supina’s serene vocals giving tracks an otherwordly quality. Do check out their music at their myspace page. Word is they have recently reformed and are presently working on their debut album which I can’t wait to hear.

Someplace in the high desert of Central Oregon, there is a sacred place, a village nestled in the Bend of the Deschutes River, where the beats are funky, the bass resonates through the puffs of magic dragons, and the vibe of tribal social consciousness reigns supreme.

Moksha is one of the chief rockers of the underground scene in the Pacific-Northwestern USA and represents the styles of trip-hop, dubstep, r&amp;b, ambient, nu-jazz, and hip-hop, with digital grace and silky smooth sequencing. This set is packed to the gills with talented producers like The Herbaliser, One Self, dZihan &amp; Kamien, Vanja Lazarova, Michael Franti and Spearhead, and the legendary Kruder &amp; Dorfmeister.

<title>The Chola- Happy Hour For The Soul (HTML→MP3)</title>
		<link>http://www.definitivedowntempo.com/2008/10/happy-hour-for-the-soul-10-02-08/</link>
<description>I think a lot of us have been overwhelmed by the darkness that tends to make its way in to our lives from time to time. As Americans, every time we turn on the TV lately, we seem to be reminded of it. A scary economy, a wild election year, loss of jobs, bad weather...WHATEVER... it seems to be everywhere.

In this month&#39;s downtempo podcast, I have really worked to put together a show with songs that just put a smile on my face... I hope it does the same for each of you. Take some time this weekend, say a prayer for someone that needs it, do something nice for a complete stranger, snuggle with the one that you love most (it&#39;s SO good for the soul,) read a book, take a nap, pour a drink, listen to some positive music, and hang out with friends and family. Enjoy a &quot;Happy Hour for the Soul,&quot; be happy, and remember, from darkness... comes light.

This month&#39;s podcast is dedicated to Christopher &quot;Casper&quot; Venuti and the friends and family he leaves behind. I hope angels dig beatboxing as much as we did. I raise my glass of Vodka Soda with a Twist of Lemon... for you.

		<title>radio waves from space22_eastern promises - bec paton (MP3)</title>
		<link>http://thoughtlabaudio.podbean.com/2008/06/12/eastern-promises/</link>
<description>I play a bit of electronica tinged hip hop and speak a bit of Japanese so it was pretty appropriate to get to support my hero, DJ Krush! At my wedding in February, we walked down the aisle to Dj Krush’s “Final Home” (the piano mix) too so it made it pretty poetic, sorta, too.

Poor Krush was a bit stunned because his support rocked up, was a girl, spoke Japanese and told him enthusiastically about getting hitched to one of his songs, (in Japanese). He was bewildered but stoked. When one of the turntables buggered out, he was cool enough to let me use one of his for the remainder of the set too. After my set, he said my tunes were great, high-fived me and clapped me in front of the crowd. I still feel a little glowy…

He then pulled out an awesome set and was such a generous performer and truly the master.
