DJ Zhao - FUSION 2 Ancient Dubnology (MP3)

Traditional and contemporary music from 5 continents, 25 countries, re-edited, mashed up, and dubbed out. The Fusion series is more for listening compared to the dancefloor heat of NGOMA, but there are certainly some bangers in here, alongside more tripped out and lyrical numbers. - Source Site:http://differentwaters.blogspot.com/2010/10/fusion-2.html

Grant Phabao and Djouls - 21st Century Afro Vol.2 (MP3)

The second volume of our '21st Century Afro' series begins its trip with a peaceful afro-ethio-cuban trip from Lightning Head, then heads directly into heavy afro-kraut-jazz from Nomo, a collective from Michigan developing quite an unique sound. After another instant afrosoul classic taken from The Budos Band's masterpiece, the mix navigates into supafunky ethio-jazz from The Lions, a Los Angeles collective of musicians you may also find playing in Breakestra, Connie Price and the Keystones, Orgone, Madlib's Sound Directions, Plant Life, Clutchy Hopkins, the Greyboy allstars... Things then get more focused with a devastating pamphlet from Seun Kuti and Egypt 80. The Shawn Lee apparition in this selection which comes afterwards is quite a surprise, but since the multi-instrumentalist genius decided to go global on his latest album, there's no reason to pass out on it. The same goes for the closing track, the hard-hitting Afrobeat drum-powered 'Platypus Strut' by Ohmega Watts - with the help of members of the Breakestra/Connie Price/Antibalas... it's a small world. - Source Site:http://www.parisdjs.com/index.php/post/grant-phabao-and-djouls-21st-century-afro-vol2

tParis DJs Soundstem - African Mashed Potato Popcorn Vol.6 (MP3)

African music is shining on ParisDJs.com, with this already 6th (!) volume of our African Mashed Potato Popcorn series, carefully crafted by our loyal co-founders Grant Phabao & Djouls from the T.I.M.E.C. music agency. Those guys have been digging for rare and trippy african grooves for many years now, and after a relaxed "Afrocool" selection (Vol.4) and a roof-tearing-off "Afrogroove" one (Vol.5), they've opted this time for a special psychedelic mashup of afro-trips from all over the world. - Source Site:http://www.parisdjs.com/index.php/post/paris-djs-soundstem-african-mashed-potato-popcorn-vol6

It's a depressing time of year anyway what with the weather changing and Halloween reminding us that the dead can come to life. Yikes.
Now we have to deal with the most important election in a generation and the worst economy in just as long? Fuck that.
This is Bear Market Beats, a happy little break from the doom and gloom.

Gingersteve - Africana the Fourth (MP3)

Hello all. Time for another instalment of the somewhat sporadic (well pretty much annual) and inconsistently numbered Africana series. This time I acided it, mainly because these days I'm more likely to get things done if I tackle it in chunks. Anyway, you're not arsed about that, you want to know why you should download this. Let me whet your appetite. It starts off all lovely and traditionally African with uplifting kora sounds from Mr Diabaté, then gets progressively more Afro Housey, taking in Afro-Funk, Afro-Dub and Afro-Latin along the way, and being hijacked by a marauding crowd of Brazilians wearing Afro wigs....

If you're familiar with previous Africana excursions, this is like them, but gets to the high octane stuff quicker ;o)......If you're not, go and get them now, I'm sure you can find them if you look hard enough.....
This one's 192kbps, 1:19ish
    Tracks:....

01. Toumani Diabaté's Symmetric Orchestra - Single...
02. Mory Kante - Biriya (Rhythmes Du Mandingue)...
03. Malena - More Afro (Original)...
04. The Allenko Brotherhood Ensemble - Yoruba Road (Boozoo Bajou Remix)...
05. Nickodemus ft. Mick Stein - Back from Africa (Original)...
06. Afro-Cube - Muevete Mama (Afro Beats)...
07. DJ Mbuso - Swazi's Dance...
08. Sounds Delight - Beautiful Morning (Original Mix)...
09. Hideo Kobayashi - Closer to Me (Afro Soul Mix)...
10. Djaimin feat. the Oule Oule Family - Children of Africa (Guitar Mix)...
11. Bantu - Oya Oya (Quincy Jointz Remix)...
12. Idan K - Ache (KTA House Mix)...
13. Jordan Rivera - Alegria Musical (Afro Dub Mix)...
14. Bang Bang - Afro Cuban Band (Original)...
15. Friscia Lamboy - Zulu (Instrumental Mix) - Source Site:http://gingersteve.co.uk

URL MONRO "Parlaya" pt 1 (MP3)

Boom. NEW!!!! URL MONRO live from The Nest in Hackney E8. All-over styles including exclusive re-mixes. Tracks from Panoptikum, Stephen Marley, SMD, Blaqqstar, Bole 2 Harlem, Full Pupp, Subway, Natural Rhythm, Kenny Dope, Radioclit, MIA, Joakim, Movado & Busy Signal, et al. The Pearl comes correct here in one take. You can tell it's live 'cause it is, dunny. This is one of those improvised sets where you can hear all the lovely imperfections. No wheel-ups, no chat, just pan-geographic hip-shaking bassbin business. A DJ beating some records. URL MONRO in the building people. Summer on blast, my ninjas. Tuck in and enjoy. - Source Site:http://bodymusik.blogspot.com

Kuduro is also a kickass uptempo (140bpm) style of electronic music. The first one 100% produced in Africa according to some. This 20min mix features some of the big hits of 2005 and 2006.
