FKL appendage, thesuperglo, presents an almost shamanistic incantation that starts huge and energetic before craftily progressing into the more mystifying planes of psy. A deep, penetrating set, that paints a kind of broodingly peaceful (oxymoron?) atmosphere that is sure to gratify your neuroses. thesuperglo has created a beautiful amalgamation that features some of psytrance’s more esoteric names, like Encephalopaticys, Paranoize and Atriohm alongside the more familiar names of Tryambaka and Fungus Funk. Simply brilliant!

[FKL] EJ - Thumbsukka (HTML→MP3)

Good god! I have no idea how I am to express this blisteringly brilliant mix in words. Ever heard the saying ‘Less Is More‘? Well if there’s a mixset that embodies that phrase, EJ’s latest minimal-tech effort would probably be it! A clean cut, well polished, spirit elevating, bone rattling effort featuring some of my personal faves, like Nathan Fake, Mark Knight, Funkagenda, Format B and *gasp* Alex Under!! Thumbsukka does anything but suck. It’s almost surreal how our mistress seems to bind each track with intelligent threads of cohesiveness that flings the listener out into the cosmos before driving them back to earth with basslines the size of houses. I guarantee this will bring out the screaming little groupie in you! All I can say is, “Do You Remember Your First Time?”

[FKL] DJ Rasul - Feb 08 Promo (MP3)

While Dj Rasul might be a fresh face here on FKL, he is by no means a newbie to the world of Dance music and Dj-ing. A student of Jeremy K, Dj Rasul got his first break at Lavish, playing hard-trance. Since then, the boy has been stamping his mark all over Melbourne with gigs at venues like Madisons, Equinox and Gravity Bar. His current residency is at Seven, where patrons are treated to a weekly dose of electro and minimal tech. His first mix here on FKL is definitely an engaging one. An ethereal blend of trance, electro and minimal with a very progressive sensibility, featuring the likes of Luke Chable, Deadmau5, Hiroyuki Oda and Andrea Doria. Boys and Girls, give it up for Dj Rasul.

[FKL] RESISTIV3 B2B Sessions feat. Kain (Ohm Resistance, US) on FKL (HTML)

The Resistiv3 crew recently churned some guts and most probably gave a few people a sensory lobotomy with their back to back sessions at KL’s Palate Palette Restaurant & Bar. And even though I wasn’t able to make the show, judging from these mixsets, it must have been one hell of a night! From the most brooding Dubstep to the utter mayhem some absolute killer DnB, the Resistiv3 crew are surely sending out shockwaves that rattling the local scene at its very foundations.
