The folks over on the Ninja Tune Msg Boards put together a Frankenmix of all of their favorite Hardcore tunes from back in the day and not so far back in the day. Usually these collab mixes lose the plot and suck in their varied approach. But with hardcore being a multi-faceted beast this mix works as a perfect primer of all of the angles (drillcore, ravey hardcore, industrial hardcore, noisecore). Though "happy" hardcore was not invited to the party (thank god!). So strap on your N2O gas mask and get ready to freak the fuck out to some good ole HARDCORE!

We got a taste of Dre Skull's style a while back when he did a mix for Sweden's DiscoBelle(a must bookmark kinda site!). So fire up your downloader or podcaster of choice and get this mix in your ears as fast as possible. From personal experience: driving while blasting this mix will cause you to speed - be warned. Oh yeah and Dre gets props for dropping known floor fillers like 'Pump up the Jam' and 'Born Slippy' (instead of spelunking for some obscure B-side bullshit - that so many 'eclectic' Djs are prone to play)

Dj Gigolo "the Mixx" Knight - Black Friday Mix (MP3)

Heard about this dude from the fine folks at ProteinOs.com who had him spin their latest throwdown. At first I was suspicious, an all Baltimore Club set? I was bracing myself for kitchy and hyper "SpongeBob Square Pants" remixes. But turns out Mr. Gigolo Knight is from the UK so his take on Bmore is very different than the typical mid-atlantic mix. Oodles of old school rave stabs and samples makes this a great set using the Bmore beat pattern as the basis but then going further afield with old school rave as the core style. Watch yer Bass bins I'm tellin ya!

For all of you new-jacks who are getting loose with "neu-rave" on your iPizzy. Check out this "OG rave" mix circa 1992 from one of NYC's hardest working DJs - DJ DB. You might have heard of DB from his famed US DnB store Breakbeat Science or from his recent DnB mix CDs. But that is just a small slice of DBs prowess.
