Erol Alkan - Beyond the Wizards Sleeve (MP3)
You've probably heard of Erol Alkan - UK-based DJ god, one of the prime movers behind the now legendary Trash parties and Electro remix wizard. Well as part of his podcast series he just released this lil gem. A Zodiac inspired electro-hippie discourse that will get your bootie moving. Have you been holding off on chatting up that hot hippie chick at the bakery? Well now you've got the perfect weapon! A straight up freak out mix that is certain to pull more fans for Erol beyond his usual electro tweakers. Go ahead and chow on the brown acid! - it may be bad but this mix is so good that it will balance out, man....

Les Gillettes - New Judas vs. Top Billing pt 1 (MP3)

Protokoll - No Men Mixtape (MP3)
Boston bred - San Diego based Protokoll had a stand out track ('Moving Forward') on the recent Scion/I heart comix remix CD. With their bauhaus inspired mood rock combined with a dancefloor friendly beat selection these boys look to be on the way up! They recently put this mixtape together which doesn't feature their own music but certainly serves as a good barometer of their own musical tastes (from Lisa Lisa & the Cult Jam to Throbbing Gristle). A great mix of party jams, mashups and more.
Genres: blends, electro, indie, mash-up, remixes, rock

Frankie Chan - Scion Mixtape (MP3)
First of all- for all you mixtape DJs out there - take a listen and witness what a recording engineer can do for your MP3-mix. Frankie had Greg from the Acid Girls engineer this tape and gotta say it TOTALLY sounds like it. Hats off for that alone! Oh yeah and the mix itself is completely devastating with all kinds of upfront tunes that only a dude who runs a record label can get their hands on. Frankie runs LA-Based IHEARTCOMIX and this mix runs through all of the remixes of that labels latest tracks. Originally this mix was made for Scion's mixtape series and now it is released into the inter-wild for your earbud rockin pleasure.
Diplo PitchFork Mix (HTML→MP3)
Alright alright... consider my Pitchfork hating retracted. This mix pretty much does away with any dispersions cast upon the pitchfork media group. Diplo lines up a mix that will bring you back into the ranks of "fan-boy". Unlike that Fabric mix he did a while back that was good but mostly heard before. This one goes back to his Hollertronix roots with a mix of ecclectic bangers. He's been holed up recently in Jamaica with the other "hottest DJ around" Switch - making rekids with all of the top dancehall toasters. Also be sure to read the interview conducted by David Day (click source site for full text) NOTE: the link is dead and the mix cannot be found on Pitchfork - consider hating resumed!
Genres: blends, crunk, electro, hip-hop, indie

PeanutButter Wolf _ Chrome Children Mix (MP3)
Those folks over at Stones Throw continue to capitalize on that Adult Swim hook up. Robot Chicken is my shit! And in this mix PB wolf gets down with cuts from the newly release Chrome Children album as well as some other soulful hip-hop cuts. If you are looking for hyphee snap beats with dro, yay & scrill etc. you should look elsewhere. But if you are interested in what is happening now that the backpack hip-hop just carries a laptop bag, this is the spot to check in.
CatchDubs - FADER Strength in Numbers Mix (MP3)
Boom! Egads! Catchdubs is continuing to drop the heavy artilery on your head! Fader hatches issue no 40 and along with it podcasts this finely blended nugget! Whew it is an insane lineup including: Young Jeezy, the Boredoms, Swizz Beats, Green Velvet, Tego Calderon, Fancy and Dwight Yokum?
Genres: country, dancehall, hip-hop, indie, reggae

My Gay Husband - theKids (MP3)
A smooth mix from SLU artist My Gay Husband. Goes all over the road of eclectism with this one; startling moments of genius such as a Beatles vs. Elephant Man blend about midway through. BC stand up to this!
Genres: blends, funk, house, indie, mash-up
