The Rub - DC Go go Classics Mix (MP3)

Go-go is one of the quintessential region musical styles. Miami had it's Bass, Chicago had it's House and DC brought out the Go-go sound. "Do it in the Butt" is the only "go-go" cut to make it nationwide and most folks think that is about the breadth of the sound. Thank god for the record collection of those boys from "The Rub"! This mix'll give you a good run down on where gogo has been over the past few years. I must say it is missing some of the Classic Artists - Chuck Brown, EU, Lil Benny and others but nonetheless it'll catch you up. One thing to note is that listening to go-go on your iPod is NOTHING compared to catching a Live go-go show. All dem dancehall queens and dirty south ass droppers could learn a thing or two about "gettin' their freak on" from the DC gogo dancers. If you are ever in DC you owe it to yourself to find the Metro Club in SW and catch some live gogo.
