B Traits - Ruff Mix (MP3)

Recently B Traits did a mix for DnB Arena and it is a scorcher BUT dnb arena doesn't quite get the whole sharing over the web idea and has built their mp3 player so you can't link to it directly. So instead check out this demo mix from this up and coming She-Jay from Vancouver BC (wtf is up with Vancouver DJs runnin' tings?!?) Loads of storming basslines and ruffneck bidness! Been a while since DnB was exciting and B Traits seems to be stirring up the pot. DJ Dymond - The Hunger (MP3)

DnB has been bubblin under the surface with some killer cuts going un-noticed due to heads being spent on the whole "Brwaarwrr" monster basslines sound. The liquid funk style has been bringing DnB back to it's roots with some soulful ass grooves. And DJ Dymond is definitely driving the buzz home with this cool ass mix of quality dnb cuts. Remember back in the day when heads would wince when you called it "intelligent"? This is definitely not some shoe-gazing intelligent "Drum and Space" but then again it is not your fist-clenched beer soaked turbo-boy-bassline freak out.

Mr. Mendez - Bad Company UK mix (MP3)

With the onset of "Liquid Funk" in dnb you would think that the turbo-charged dark & heavy beats had gone into hibernation. Oh but you would be so wrong! Bad Company the originators of the street-sweeping bassline combined with their machine-gun tight snares have been keeping the hardcore flame alive. And here Mr. Mendez of Florida's Hallucination crew mixes up a special brew of all of Bad Company's classic tracks. Mendez will be tackling mix-CD duties on the upcoming BCUK double-CD "Bad Taste" on System Recordings. I am not sure if the album will include the dreaded "brown note" but with all of the heavyduty bassline pressure anything is possible.
