With so many years in the DJ game comes a level of confidence that is impossible to fake and is a palpable presence on the dancefloor. Derrick Carter has this confidence in droves. Listen in to this recent set recorded in Chi-town as Derrick owns the floor and only whips out his pimp hand when neccesary. For example at about 8:00 he drops a key sample of "get your club on..." that obviously drove the floor into a panic. Now a less experienced Dj would have gotten the positive floor response and then dropped that sample over and over again. But not the master. He knows you will keep your ears out for the next drop and it never comes! Straight up this is what deep house is all about right here.
