A friend of mine dropped this little gem into my lap this morning. So, on this chilly autumn day, we can think back to the awesomeness that was the Daft Punk show at Keyspan Park this summer. I'd say it ranks as the most memorable event in my book.

Adam has now completed a total of 10 mixes for our podcast. While he has been a solid DJ the entire time I've known him, his recorded efforts have steadily improved on many levels. The episode we present today is my favorite so far, and, in my opinion, his best. We start off the set with a steady progression of house and dark-disco infused beats leading into drums, a little '80s electro-funk, and a trip into acid land. On the way out, Adam treats us to some Carl Craig, a little Big Boi--a throwback to his Atlanta roots--and finishes the whole thing off with The Clash. If the title is any indication, at this very moment Jon is likely struggling to regain consciousness and make it to work by the appointed time. The rest of us, having gone to bed at a reasonable hour like the good little boys and girls we are, can start the party early with this energetic mix. Jon lures the indie kids with his opening tracks and then reminds them that to dance, you really do need some acid-tinged beats and a touch of funk. Expect glimmers of electro and French house and allow yourself to momentarily whisk away all thoughts of long workday ahead. Enjoy!

We debut a new DJ to the ABrooklynLife family today, Carrie Whitenoise. Miss Whitenoise, as you'll kindly refer to her, has been playing around with music, and electronic music, for a long time. I met her many years ago in Atlanta when she was a fresh-faced, just-out-of-college PR girl. She describes this mix as taking a "techno-dance-pop meets rock approach," which will all make sense once you put those headphones on. You'll find Miss White dancin' her ass off at minimal techno shows around NYC (apparently this is possible ;), making faithful appearances at electro nights around town and looking appropriately ponderful when contemplating the newest indie rock phenomena. We forgive her for living in Williamsburg (Brooklyn, NY) and promise to make it out to Savalas one of these Sunday nights when she holds her weekly DJ court from 10 p.m. onward. Her mix is the perfect music gumbo for the fabulously long weekend ahead. Enjoy!
