We've been so busy promoting our DJ night, Suspiria, we haven't had much time to make mixes for the podcast. Thankfully Carrie sent me this one our way other day. I've been listening to it ever since. As always, Carrie has pulled together a nice menagerie of tunes. My favorite is the Midnight Juggernauts track "Into the Galaxy" right at the end. Nice touch! Jon G is back on ABL:Radio and he brings us another one of his famous full-on energetic party mixes containing the likes of MSTRKRFT, Shiny Toy Guns, Brazilian Girls and much, much more. We guarantee your ass won't be glued to the seat after listening for a few minutes. Originally, this mix was done as one piece split into two parts, explaining the 2 hour run-time. There is something about Carrie's mixes that I can only compare to that sense of satisfaction you get after eating a meal consisting of Southern fried chicken, collards, black-eyed peas, and corn bread. It's exactly what I wanted, right now! We're happy to have Carrie back on ABL:Radio for her second episode (her first episode is here). She recently closed-up my birthday party at Lido Bar with her soulful mix of indie-electro beats and she had me out shakin' my ass until 4:30 am. If you'd like to catch Carrie's sets, she spins every Sunday at Savalas Bar, and occasionally at Boogaloo in Williamsburg with the Black Van, Machine Punk crew. ABL:Radio - I Go Out Dancing - Mixed by Jon G (MP3)

If the title is any indication, at this very moment Jon is likely struggling to regain consciousness and make it to work by the appointed time. The rest of us, having gone to bed at a reasonable hour like the good little boys and girls we are, can start the party early with this energetic mix. Jon lures the indie kids with his opening tracks and then reminds them that to dance, you really do need some acid-tinged beats and a touch of funk. Expect glimmers of electro and French house and allow yourself to momentarily whisk away all thoughts of long workday ahead. Enjoy!
