ABL:Radio - end of an era - Mixed by Carrie White[noise] (MP3)
Our mix my be a little late this week, but it just so happens to fall perfectly on Bastille day. Taking this opportunity to celebrate, Carrie White[noise] is making her 3rd appearance on ABL:Radio. She brings along her own characteristic styles we seldom have the opportunity to indulge on this podcast. If you're interested in seeing Carrie play out, keep your eyes peeled for Machine Punk events around the city (NYC that is).

ABL:Radio - DJ Cosmo Is Indestructible - Mixed by Cosmo (MP3)
So, this week we have a new DJ on the ABL:Radio roster, Cosmo. Brooklyn resident Cosmo has been kickin' it in electronic dance music and indie rock scenes since the early 90's. He started out DJing around clubs in Miami and later became a member of the rock band Muse (Lava/Atlantic records). He toured US and Canada with Collective Soul, Luscious Jackson, Lemonheads, Dinosaur Jr, Live, Silverchair, Beck, and 311. In 1999, COSMO left Muse to join Astralwerks recording artists, Metrodub (Miami, Florida). Getting back to his Miami DJ roots, he toured with Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, and Fat Boy Slim, plus he was a resident at Liquid, Bar Room, Chili Pepper, and Level. He produced two-dozen plus dance records, some were released internationally, on various labels (Universal, Filtered, Neo Records) from 1998 on. From this point in his career, Cosmo was able to work on his skills as a music producer and engineer. He was a producer for various indie rock bands and worked with Barry Gibb (Bee Gees) on several projects including the 2005 Barbara Streisand album. Recently Cosmo moved to Brooklyn with his newly formed glam/electro group, The Junkies. Their album "Anthem Style Punk Kids" comes out on June 26th, after which they will be touring worldwide. Cosmo produces all the songs for the band. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you're in NYC, come check-out Cosmo this Saturday at the Skylab (Sputnik Bar in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn) go to the source site for more details.

Here we go with an exclusive Ladycréme follow-up to a mix that we posted yesterday, "The Saints Preserve Us." Today's episode continues the fervid pursuit of energizing synthesizer-based tracks. My personal favorites are the Telex, Robotnik, and Tyrell records. It should also be noted that today is Neil's birthday, one member of the Ladycréme dynamic duo. If you were subscribed to the RSS feed, iTunes would have auto-magically downloaded this days ago. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kissogram – My Friend Is A Seahorse (Mock and Toof Remix) (Defdrive), Padded Cell – Moon Menace (DC Recordings), Telex – How Do You Dance? ABL:Radio - The Saints Preserve Us - Mixed by Ladycréme (MP3)
We have a special treat for you this week, its a Ladycréme double header! This first mix appeared on another podcast, "DJs Are Persons" out of Argentina about two weeks ago (definitely worth checking out), but we've decided to run it along with another new mix on ours this week. Seems with each subsequent effort, these guys keep refining their exceptional sound. This mix packs enough Italo classics, analog synthesizer pop, savvy/sassy dance rock remixes, electro-house, and pure Brooklyn attitude to fuel your spirits for days. Bob Moog would definitely be proud. Be on the lookout in the next day or so for the 2nd mix, "Venus Whisper," which is already available to podcast subscribers through the RSS feed. Also, you can purchase Ladycréme's 12" at Turntablelab NYC here http://www.turntablelab.com/vinyl/0/0/17898.html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Hasbeens – Make the World Go Away (Clone), Skatebaard – June Nights South of Siene (Sex Tags Mania), Hot Chip – Over and Over (Mock and Toof Dub) (EMI), Michoacan – Hold On Baby, We'll Make It (Bear Entertainment), Rodion – Atala Ride (Gomma), Trans Mania - Boing Boom Jack (Alexander Robotnik Remix) (Gomma), Jor-El – I Want Disco (International Deejay Gigolos), A.I.M. - So Evil (Close to the Edge) (Tomboy Twist) (Irma), Robyn – Crash and Burn Girl (Jesper Dahlback Remix) (Konichiwa), Tracey Thorn – It's All True (Kris Menace Dub) (Virgin), Lotterboys – Can't Control the Boogie (The Subs Remix) (Eskimo Recordings), Franz and Shape vs. N.O.I.A. - The Man Who Paid Before (Relish Recordings), Equip – XXXO (White Label), The Valentinos - Nightmoves (Comets Valitalo Remix)
