ABL:Radio - Adamz Holyday Tofurky Miks - Mixed by Adam Smith (MP3)
Adam has been busy doing his Dad duties so we haven't been blessed with a mix from him in a while. Out of the blue he dropped this nice little techy house mix on us. Guess he can't be kept from his DJ passions for too long. We have all our bases cover here with everything from LFO, Villalobos, Janet Jackson to Swayzak to name a few. Have a great weekend, we're off to London for the weekend so we won't be posting much until early next week. Cheers!

ABL:Radio - Model 750 - Mixed by Carrie White[noise] (MP3)
Carrie White[noise] has a style all her own. On each mix, I'm constantly looking forward to hearing new and intriguing tracks. One of my personal favorites is track #10 "A Bit of Rave" by Oliver Dodd, one of our friends from way back who recently tore it up with Devin Dirt (blackvan records) at Monkey Town in Williamsburg.
Genres: acid, electro, rave, techno, techno-electro-house

Memories Of Summer: Daft Punk At Keyspan Park, Coney Island (HTML→MP3)
A friend of mine dropped this little gem into my lap this morning. So, on this chilly autumn day, we can think back to the awesomeness that was the Daft Punk show at Keyspan Park this summer. I'd say it ranks as the most memorable event in my book.

ABL:Radio - When We Were Free - Mixed by Adam Smith (MP3)
Long time ago, there existed a place where people lived care-free -- the only laws governing the land were four-four beats and mandatory dancing until sun rise. On our episode this week, Adam Smith celebrates this magical land with a tour of classic house and acid from 1986 to 1993. A few weeks back, two crates of old house records fell into his hands when a well known DJ had to hightail it out of New York. It took a while for Adam to prune the crap and unearth this pile of gems. We hope you enjoy the results! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ D'Pac With Terence FM - I Wouldn't - Prescription, Tikkle - Movin On - House Jam, Lidell Townsell - Nu Nu - Clubhouse, Phase II - Reachin - Movin Records, Electribe 101 - Talking With Myself - Mercury, Logic - The Final Frontier - Strictly Rhythm, Jungle Wonz - The Jungle - Trax, Bobby Konders - The Lost Nu Groove Track - Nu Groove, A Guy Called Gerald - VooDoo Ray - Warlock, Jack Frost - Acid Tracks - Trax, Tomi D - You Are an Angel - Tresor, Maurice - This is Acid - Vendetta

ABL:Radio - Party In My Pantaloons - Mixed by Adam Smith (MP3)
Adam has now completed a total of 10 mixes for our podcast. While he has been a solid DJ the entire time I've known him, his recorded efforts have steadily improved on many levels. The episode we present today is my favorite so far, and, in my opinion, his best. We start off the set with a steady progression of house and dark-disco infused beats leading into drums, a little '80s electro-funk, and a trip into acid land. On the way out, Adam treats us to some Carl Craig, a little Big Boi--a throwback to his Atlanta roots--and finishes the whole thing off with The Clash. This could be the last mix we see from Adam for a while, as he is about to become a first-time father. If you enjoyed his mix, drop him a shout-out in the comment section. Enjoy!

ABL:Radio - The Dog and Pony Show - Mixed by Tal (MP3)
The Dog and Pony Show is a new project from the dj who brought you East Village Radio's infamous Electro Beef. This mix is the first episode of the show which, although it has a new name, still keeps the wild style of his previous mixes, dropping whatever fits the moment from Wagon Christ to Throbbing Gristle. Since we don't know when to expect the next episode from Dog and Pony (maybe after his Tel-Aviv tour?) this is a real treat. Drop him a comment here or check out the archives on electrobeef.com to make sure the Dog and Pony Show comes through again.

ABL:Radio - Liberties - Mixed by Adam Smith (MP3)
Adam eschews traditional DJ techniques, dumping the old SL1200s and his trusty mixer for Ableton on a Powerbook. You would think the results would take far less effort to produce. On the contrary, I've never seen Adam work so hard on a mix. Yes folks, out of the ABL:Radio DJ sweatshop comes another excellent mix. Through layering and looping, Adam remixes each individual track and makes tham all his own. You will hear techno influences tieing David Bowie with Information Society. There are oodles of analog synths and wiffs of acid to keep you absorbed. As with all of Adam's work, he takes you on a venture from the upbeat to deep and back again. Enjoy!
