Radzy and I were listening to this mix over the weekend, and we were very pleasantly suprised at the level of innovation that many of our artists have been rising rapidly towards. No.4's one of our artists that's really got to get credit for it though. This particular mix, opening with some Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, flows into a wonderfully introspective dubstep sound blending in and out of some beautiful lyricism and delicate mixing. Featuring dubstep sub-riders Loefah, Roll Deep, and some really unconventional blends into Switchblade Symphony and Trentemoller; this mix really highlights the hard work that No.4 has been putting in developing his signature aurally-philosophical sound. A masterpiece. F**k. What a great way to start the year. DEAR MR BLENTWELL CHECK THIS OUT [FKL] No. 4 - Risque (HTML→MP3)
For all you generalists out there, I promise you, IDM was the only smothering label I could come up with to describe this excellent mix. No. 4 has truly delivered the goods. Featuring a motley list of seemingly contradicting elements. From the bonsai-melodies of Sia, the haunting vacuum of Sigur Ros, and even a crafty remix from Coil and Danny Hyde. Intelligent - thats all I really know how to describe it: No. 4 - Risque -tracklisting- 01. Sia - Numb 02. Skream - I (Loefah remix) 03. [FKL][BONGO!] Tubby, Adventures of Cutman, and DJ Six - Live @ Bongolia (June) (HTML→MP3)
We had such a blast at our Bongolia party at The Loft last week that we thought the cops would bust us and lock us up for having too much fun. Okay well maybe we were just a little bit drunk. It's all there from Tubby's power-packed opener to The Adventures of Cutman's brilliant breakbeat mash-ups to a typically deep and rollin' set from DJ Six A fair warning, though: don't turn the volume up too loud because the sound levels tend to max out from time to time.

[FKL] Blastique - How Does It Fly? (MP3)
It’s always a good thing when I get a mix from the sublime Blastique, his mixes have given current breaks DJ’s a run for their money. Maybe its the infusion between the electro grind and durty fat kicks, or that tracks are accurately mixed in key, or maybe because he’s got a tracklist to die for. Whatever it is, this mix has been sitting in my box for a few months now - and only recently has he managed to dig out a tracklist for me (and you!) Featuring some of my personal favorites: Trentmoller, Chris Micali, Superpitcher (J-Regrette!) and a tonne of other supersick tracks! Joy: 1. Trentemoller - Always Something Better (Trentemoller Mix) 2. Cisco Ferreira - Pagodas (Adam Beyer Remix) 3. Quivver - Not Givin Up feat. Niki Mak 4. Rui Da Silva - Dance.come.feel.exe 5. [FKL] Sirius Break - Title Is Reserved For Someone (MP3)
The cold snap has broken in the North Americas, and spring is bringing us a slammin’ mix from the king of the cold, Sirius Break. “Title is Reserved for Someone” is a very personal mix to Adam; bringing together some of the most chemical of shotgun basslines and sinister of technical arrangements in a deck-blent mix tale of cynicism, regret, and ending with an optimistic look forward in his own life. 1. [FKL] Sirius Breaks - Siriusly Progressive Breaks (MP3)
I had the privilege of living with the guy in the apartment below in a pre-war house in Westside Buffalo, New York. Adam kept his gear with mine in the attic, where I was quietly brewing destruction. He’s come a long way since then, and Adam’s sound has matured into heavy, sophisticated mechanics with his stomping breakbeat mentality. -tracklisting- KAOSS PAD 2 Intro 1. [FKL] Blastique - BootyBabes (MP3)
Blastique aka Reuben Samuel is no underdog in Kuala Lumpur’s underground movement. Probably the only qualified, degree-wielding Sonic Artist (BA) in Kuala Lumpur, Blastique has his dancefloor groove down both in his live performances and through his productions; being the only Malaysian signed onto the heavy-handed Silo Recordings and Electrofly labels. ‘BootyBabes’ is a thumping mix of Progressive/Tech-House/Breaks sliding in and out from slick lap-dancer grime and sophisticated technical manipulation - perfect for a sweaty evening and some heavy breathing duets. ;)
